Singapore Downtown Line Stage 2 Contract 915 / Shield Tunnel

Summary

We initiated the project with installing Slurry treatment equipment from December 2010, and completed 4.3km length of tunneling with 3 different TBM Machines. We expected many difficulties such as operating 3 TBM machines, tunneling bed rock and complex foundation but successfully completed 4 penetrations by overcoming trials such as subsidence while tunneling complex foundation, abrasion of numerous cutter and pipe, and transformed cutter-head because of the hard rock tunneling.
