Korea Wonju~Gangneung Railway Section No.11-3/Shield Tunnel

Summary

This project is to build railroad infra for 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic and to develop Gangwon area by connecting railroad to capital area and will be done at December 2017. Once it opens, it will take 1 hour and 12 minutes by KTX between Seoul and Gangneung. Section No.11-3 is 1,160m length shield tunnel with 8.41m in diameter (nation’s largest) and we were successfully excavated difficult parts such as underground of Namdaechun river, downtown area, Heritage conservation area and so on.
